THE RACES
The Eislek Gravel Luxembourg Course: A Two-Part Adventure
The Start Loop – Emotion and Altitude in the Heart of Vianden
From the very beginning, riders are immersed in a historical and challenging atmosphere. Starting from the heart of Vianden, the course begins with a spectacular cobblestone climb that guides participants to the iconic Vianden Castle, which has stood guard over the area for centuries. This initial section emphasizes the authenticity of the adventure, blending history and scenery.
After passing the castle to the right, the route enters Vianden’s forest for a progressive ascent of about 10 kilometers to the highest point of the course at 510 meters altitude. The following descent alternates between tarmac sections and forest paths, offering a sense of speed and freedom. Along the Our River, the route offers a playful and fast section on a winding path, descending back to Vianden. This 25 km start loop brings riders across the finish line for the first time, where the true challenge begins.
The German Loop – Rhythm and Escape Through Woodlands
After the start loop, participants take on the German Loop, designed to extend the race with a variety of terrains and profiles. This loop offers a completely different experience: softer landscapes, less demanding gradients, and a smoother rhythm. Here, the race stretches through long sections under tree canopies, where cyclists can pick up speed and enjoy the course's fluidity, in perfect harmony with nature.
After completing the German Loop, the course crosses back over the border, and participants experience a unique atmosphere while riding along the river on a greenway and an elevated path overlooking the Our. This section brings riders back to the center of Vianden to begin the second half of the circuit, retracing the start loop.
A course where every segment has its own identity: From demanding climbs, fast descents, and dense forests to rolling sections, Eislek Gravel Luxembourg promises a mix of thrilling sensations and connection with exceptional landscapes.
